Yorkshire Tech Firm SmartSearch Acquires Credas Technologies

Yorkshire tech firm SmartSearch has agreed to acquire Credas Technologies, subject to regulatory approval. The move aims to strengthen SmartSearch's position as a leading digital KYC and AML compliance platform.

SmartSearch, currently serving over 7,500 clients with a 31% year-on-year growth since 2013, seeks to enhance its industry presence through this acquisition. Credas, supporting over 1,000 legal and property clients, specialises in streamlining onboarding and improving customer journeys.

Phil Cotter, CEO of SmartSearch, sees this acquisition as a means to deliver unmatched innovation and service to clients. Tim Barnett, CEO of Credas, highlights the critical role of digital identity verification in protecting businesses from financial crime and fraud.

Backed by Triple Private Equity since 2024, SmartSearch's acquisition of Credas Technologies is expected to build on its growth record and further cement its status as a leading digital KYC and AML compliance platform.
