Xiaomi CEO Endorses Tesla Model Y, Buys Three Units
Xiaomi's CEO, Lei Jun, has publicly endorsed the Tesla Model Y, purchasing three units for himself. This comes amidst intense demand for Xiaomi's own electric SUV, the YU7.
Lei Jun praised the Model Y, drawing a direct comparison with his own YU7. Despite the YU7's impressive DC fast charging time of 13 minutes to 80%, the Tesla Model Y still manages to attract buyers, including competitors like Xiaomi and Great Wall Motors.
In 2021, Great Wall Motors' chairman Wei Jianjun also bought three Model Ys to study its components and unravel its success. Xiaomi's CEO recommended the Model Y after receiving overwhelming demand for the YU7, suggesting that Tesla's offering is hard to ignore.
Tesla's Model Y continues to impress, even among its competitors. Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun and Great Wall Motors' chairman Wei Jianjun have both purchased the vehicle to study and improve their own electric SUVs. Despite the YU7's fast charging capabilities, the Model Y remains a strong contender in the market.
