Xcode 26 Brings New Comfort Features to macOS Tahoe 26

Apple has released Xcode 26, the latest version of its integrated development environment, optimized for macOS Tahoe 26. The update, announced at WWDC on June 9, 2025, was publicly released on September 15, 2025. It brings new comfort features and optimizes existing ones.

Among the changes, Xcode now adopts the Liquid Glass style, integrating seamlessly with macOS Tahoe 26. The handling of tabs in the editor has also been updated. Instead of automatically closing, tabs can now be 'pinned' open permanently. To do this, users simply select the 'Pin' command from the context menu of the desired tab, indicated by a clear pin icon.

If no file is selected, the editor now displays a start view. This view allows users to access recently opened files and perform searches based on 'Open Quickly', streamlining workflows.

Xcode 26, developed by Apple, brings a significant version jump from 16 to 26, reflecting the coming year 2026. The update optimizes existing features and introduces new comfort features, such as the 'Pin' tab functionality and the start view for quick file access.
