In the heart of Bavaria, Vodafone is driving infrastructure expansion, aiming to connect two-thirds of all Germans to gigabit connections by 2022. This ambitious goal is being realized in the Regensburg District, where the telecommunications giant has recently put a mobile communications station into operation in Beratzhausen.

This new station has eliminated a gap in mobile broadband coverage, connecting 5,500 residents and guests to Vodafone's mobile data highway for the first time. The move marks a significant step towards Vodafone's expansion offensive, which aims to further strengthen the existing mobile network and gradually connect the entire population to the 5G network.

As the #1 in German mobile, Vodafone is leading the way, connecting more people and machines via its mobile network than any other company. By mid-2023, the company plans to implement nine more mobile communications construction projects in the Regensburg District. These projects are expected to increase broadband capacities and speeds in the district.

Vodafone's commitment to a sustainable future is evident in its plans to be climate-neutral by 2025 and emission-free by 2040. The company is using 100% green electricity, electrifying its vehicle fleet, promoting a green supply chain, and ensuring that its network technology is fully reused, resold, or recycled.

In line with its commitment to diversity and inclusion, Vodafone respects and values all people, regardless of their ethnic origin, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, belief, culture, or religion. The company's corporate culture is deeply rooted in diversity, with numerous measures supporting work-life balance, networks for women, fathers, or LGBTQ+ individuals, and diversity training for managers.

Since mid-2019, Vodafone has operated the first 5G network in Germany, reaching over 55 million people. The company currently operates 68 mobile communications stations in the Regensburg District, with 65 equipped with LTE and 36 with 5G technology. Two existing LTE stations and three existing 5G stations will receive additional antennas to further increase capacities in their respective catchment areas.

Vodafone Germany, the largest national subsidiary of the Vodafone Group, one of the world's largest telecommunications companies, generates an annual turnover of approximately 13 billion euros with its around 16,000 employees. The company is also the largest in Germany in terms of TV customers.
