Volkswagen Expands Tiguan Range With Powerful New Petrol Engines

Volkswagen has expanded its Tiguan range with two new petrol engine options, both featuring the brand's 4Motion four-wheel drive and DSG transmission. The models, which are now available to order, offer increased capability and choice for customers, as highlighted by Hannah Doherty, Tiguan Manager at VW UK.

The first model comes with a detuned version of the Golf GTI's 242bhp engine, which can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 6.0 seconds. This engine is exclusively available in the R-Line trim, starting at £39,560. The second option is a 187bhp version of the same engine, which takes 7.6 seconds to reach the same speed. This engine is offered in both R-Line and Elegance trim, starting at £36,140 and £36,275 respectively.

Volkswagen's executive management and engineering teams decided to incorporate the Golf GTI's engine into the Tiguan's powertrains, providing customers with more performance-oriented options.
