Viet Nam Unveils Code of Conduct for Responsible AI Use in Digital Communication
Viet Nam is updating its legal framework to manage the rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI), particularly generative AI. The Institute for Policy Studies and Media Development has drafted a code of conduct for responsible AI use in digital communication, outlining six core principles and 29 detailed guidelines.
The 2025 law on the digital technology industry mandates responsible AI use to ensure a safe and transparent online environment. The code, Version 1.0, focuses on six key principles: transparency, trustworthiness, respect for intellectual property rights, privacy protection, respect for human dignity, and accountability. It provides 29 specific guidelines for AI users and five notes for online advertising activities, aiming to balance creative freedom and social responsibility.
Nguyễn Minh Hoàng, Chairman of the Viet Nam Digital Communications Association, supports this initiative. He believes that alongside legally binding regulations, codes of conduct for responsible AI use in specific professional fields are essential.
