The Chinese electric vehicle maker, Xpeng, has announced updates to its flagship SUV, the G9, marking a significant leap in performance, technology, and design. The 2025 G9 is set to hit the global markets towards the end of the year, promising a high-performance, technologically advanced, and luxurious electric vehicle experience.

The G9's performance has been significantly upgraded, with an all-wheel-drive max power output of 423 kW (567 horsepower) and 695 Nm of torque. This powerful electric crossover accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds, delivering sports car-like acceleration that outperforms many competitors.

The 2025 G9 is not just about speed, though. It also boasts next-generation features such as rapid charging capabilities and immersive digital experiences, positioning it as a tech-forward luxury SUV. The vehicle embraces Chinese electric vehicle innovation and is designed with a polished and understated exterior, offering a high-end interior that caters to luxury and spaciousness, accommodating up to seven passengers comfortably.

Xpeng is expanding the availability of the G9 towards the end of 2025, with plans to enter the Australian market. Exact global launch dates have not been specified, but the model is actively showcased and available for pre-sale or early market introduction as of mid-2025.

The G9 was first introduced in 2023, with a starting price of RMB 263,900 ($36,440). In 2024, Xpeng delivered 190,068 vehicles, with the G9 contributing 26,954 units, accounting for 14.18 percent of the company's total vehicle deliveries.

Notably, the updated G9 does not mention a LiDAR option, implying a shift to a pure vision solution for the model's smart driving system. This move aligns with Xpeng's commitment to pioneering innovation in the electric vehicle industry.

The 2025 G9 is the third new product Xpeng has announced this year, following the launch of the 2024 G9 and the upcoming launch of the 2025 G6, set for March. Volkswagen, in a strategic move, has also announced plans to invest about $700 million in Xpeng and build new models based on the G9 platform.

In summary, the 2025 Xpeng G9 is poised to be a high-performance, technologically advanced, and luxurious electric SUV, offering rapid acceleration, modern digital features, and a premium 7-seat configuration. With its launch scheduled for late 2025, electric vehicle enthusiasts worldwide eagerly await the arrival of this innovative and exciting new model.
