Unibose Tech Secures Rs 5.5 Cr for ATEX Zone-0 Robots

Chennai-based Unibose Technology, a pioneering deeptech robotics startup, has secured Rs 5.5 crore in a pre-Series A funding round. This comes as the company makes headlines for developing an ATEX Zone-0 compliant robot, a first in Asia and third globally, designed to operate safely within live petroleum, chemical, and gas tanks.

The funding round was led by O2 Angels, with notable participation from IN44 Capital, Coimbatore Innovation and Business Incubator, and other strategic angel investors. Additionally, Indian Angel Network (IAN) and Lead Angels contributed to the round. Unibose Technology operates on a Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) model, allowing industries to adopt life-saving automation without significant upfront investment.

Unibose has developed custom-certified Zone-0 vision and lighting systems, enabling its robots to navigate and operate safely in confined spaces. The startup aims to expand its reach across India, GCC, and Southeast Asia, while strengthening its R&D efforts in AI-based inspection and compliance tools. Furthermore, Unibose seeks to build a robust OEM and partner ecosystem to support its growth.

With the successful funding round, Unibose Technology is well-positioned to revolutionize the way industries approach hazardous tank inspections and maintenance. Its innovative robotics solutions promise to enhance safety, efficiency, and compliance in the petroleum, chemical, and gas sectors.
