Ubisoft's Avatar game is now equipped with long-awaited features, delivering an improved experience despite late implementation.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Gets Third-Person Mode Update
Ubisoft has announced that a significant update is coming to Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the action-adventure game set in the world of James Cameron's Avatar. The update, scheduled for release on December 5, 2025, will introduce a third-person mode, a New Game+ mode, and a new skill tree for players to explore.
The third-person mode allows players to toggle between first-person and third-person perspectives, offering a new perspective on the beautiful recreation of Pandora. To ensure a seamless experience, developer Massive Entertainment has reworked animations, controls, camera systems, and audio for the third-person mode.
The New Game+ mode, also part of the update, lets players replay the story with their existing inventory and skills while facing tougher enemies and unlocking new skill trees. This update comes just two weeks before the sequel film Avatar: Fire and Ash premieres on December 19, 2025.
The third-person gameplay in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora resembles that of The Division games, a franchise created by Massive Entertainment. The initial release of the game felt flat to some players, but the addition of the third-person mode promises to bring a sense of scale, freedom, and immersion to the game.
The update is a welcome addition for those who have finished the game and are looking for a reason to replay Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The release of New Game+ and Third-Person Mode happens before the anticipated release of GTA 6, giving players plenty of time to dive back into the world of Pandora.
The Avatar Project, now known as Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, was originally announced by Ubisoft. The project was developed by Massive Entertainment, the creators of The Division franchise.
Players who have been yearning for a third-person perspective in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will finally get their wish with this update. The update is sure to breathe new life into the game and provide hours of additional gameplay for fans of the Avatar universe.
