Twitter user's X profile unveils 2025 G6 model: Launch scheduled for March, aims for global distribution
The Chinese electric vehicle maker, Xpeng, has officially unveiled its latest offering, the 2025 G6 SUV, in its home market. After a successful launch in China, Xpeng has announced plans to expand the G6's availability to select European countries by late 2025.
The G6, which played a significant role in turning around Xpeng's weak sales from the previous year, accounted for 28.65 percent of the company's annual deliveries in 2024. In China, the price range for the G6 is RMB 199,900 ($27,440) to RMB 276,900.
The new G6 model, developed for global markets, brings 81 upgrades to its exterior, interior, and features. It is built on an 800-volt high-voltage platform and will be offered in both left-hand and right-hand drive versions. The G6 updates 34 percent of its tier 1 assembly parts.
Notably, Xpeng has decided to drop LiDAR from the G6, following the P7+ sedan. The MIIT filing for the new G6 made no mention of the LiDAR option, suggesting that the company is focusing on other advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) for this model.
The battery pack of the new G6 supports 5C charging, which theoretically allows for a full charge in one-fifth of an hour. Pricing for the new G6 will be announced during its official launch, scheduled for early March.
In China, the G6 is already available at over 500 Xpeng stores in 214 cities. Customers who pre-order the 2025 G6 will enjoy priority delivery.
Looking ahead, Xpeng has plans to enter the European market with the G6 SUV, starting with the Netherlands, Belgium-Luxembourg (Belux), Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and France. Order bookings for these markets will start from mid-July 2025, with deliveries set to begin later in the year.
While the G6 is set to make its international debut in select European countries, there is no information suggesting availability in other markets such as the UK or Middle Eastern countries as of mid-2025.
