In a significant move for the Turkish automotive industry, Togg, a Turkish company, has successfully completed a problem-free journey from Kocaeli Gemlik to Munich, Germany, with their electric vehicle, the T10X. This marks the beginning of Togg's expansion into the German market, a strategic move considering the presence of around 3 million people of Turkish origin in the country.

The T10X is set to make its first appearance at Munich's IAA Mobility Fair before hitting German roads later this year, with sales launch targeted for late 2025. Auto Bild magazine's editorial team, who recently drove the T10X from Turkey to Germany, reported a trouble-free journey, characterising the T10X as "a car that is at the same level as its European and Chinese competitors."

German media have also highlighted Togg models as a symbol of power and an export product for Germany. Models have already been gifted to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, underscoring Togg's growing international recognition.

However, detailed reception data from the German market may not yet be available as the T10X is still in the early stages of market entry. Togg has announced a price increase for the T10X after an EV tax update in Turkey, which could potentially impact its market reception.

In addition to the T10X, Togg is also preparing to launch a new electric model, the T10F, this summer. The company plans to offer its vehicles via the "Trumore" digital platform in Germany, without a traditional dealership network. Togg operates an office in Stuttgart, Germany, to facilitate its expansion into the country.

Togg, described as a billion-dollar project with a political mandate rather than a startup, introduced its first electric vehicle prototype, the T10X, in December 2019 and began mass-producing and delivering it in 2022. With the T10X, Togg has surpassed China's BYD in electric vehicle sales in Turkey, demonstrating its leadership in the sector.

As Togg continues to make strides in the global electric vehicle market, the focus remains on how the T10X will be received in the competitive German market. Stay tuned for updates on Togg's journey in Germany.
