Donald Trump Jr. Announces $2.5 Billion Bitcoin Treasury at the Bitcoin 2025 Conference

In a significant move, Donald Trump Jr., through Trump Media & Technology Group (TMGT), declared plans to create a substantial Bitcoin treasury worth $2.5 billion at the Bitcoin 2025 conference held in Las Vegas. The announcement, made on stage alongside Chris Pavlovski, the founder of Rumble, sparked an immediate increase in Bitcoin's price.

TMGT's Bitcoin strategy is part of an extensive venture, encompassing Truth Social, American Bitcoin mining, and the World Liberty Financial DeFi platform. In the interview, Trump Jr. expressed his optimism towards Bitcoin's future, stating "We're going to the moon, folks, this is going to be great. Hang in there and don't give up," displaying his long-term confidence in the sector.

One of the highlights of the interview was Trump Jr.'s disclosure that TMGT has amassed a $2.5 billion Bitcoin treasury. He explained that the assets were acquired through joint ventures like American Bitcoin and partnerships, such as with Hut 8, along with the WLF DeFi platform. Despite his affirmation, Trump Jr. did not specify the preferred tokens.

Trump Jr. also commented on the traditional financial sector's reluctance to adapt to new technologies, emphasizing the need for clarity in regulatory frameworks to keep crypto activities in America. He also encouraged the banks to embrace Bitcoin, hinting at an imminent surge in adoption.

Other notable figures at the conference, including Wyoming Senator Cynthia Lummis, showed their backing for cryptocurrencies. Lummis reintroduced her Bitcoin bill in March and highlighted the support from former President Trump. Additionally, David Sacks, the White House's artificial intelligence and crypto advisor, reinforced the event's pro-crypto stance, stating that Bitcoin is "the future of the financial system."

The move signals a major shift in TMTG and the Trump family's business strategy, positioning Bitcoin as a key asset for future growth and financial resilience. The offering is expected to close around late May 2025, with the company planning to swiftly invest in Bitcoin.
