Trijicon Introduces New Green-Dot RMR Sight

Trijicon, a leading manufacturer of optical sights, has recently introduced a new addition to their lineup - the Green Dot RMR. This ruggedized miniature reflex sight offers a unique advantage over traditional red-dot sights, with its green aiming point and extended battery life.

The Green Dot RMR is built with durability in mind. It is crafted from 7075-T6 aluminum and mounts atop a host pistol via the common RMR mounting footprint, ensuring a secure and reliable fit. The sight's durability is further enhanced by the concave shape of its upper housing, which provides added protection against impacts and harsh conditions.

The Green Dot RMR maintains the same dimensions and weight as other models in Trijicon's Type 2 Adjustable LED RMR line, making it a compact and lightweight addition to any pistol setup. It measures 1.8" long, 1.2" wide, and 1" tall, and weighs a mere 1.17 ozs.

One of the standout features of the Green Dot RMR is its reticle. The 3.25-m.o.a. dot covers 0.23" of a target at 7 yards and 0.81" at 25 yards, providing a precise and visible aiming point. The human eye is more sensitive to green color wavelengths than red, making a green reticle appear brighter and easier to acquire.

In terms of functionality, the Green Dot RMR offers eight brightness settings, including two compatible with night-vision devices, five for daytime use, and a "Super Bright" mode for use with a weapon light. It also features a Battery Conservation Mode that auto-adjusts to ambient lighting conditions after 16.5 hours without a button press, and a Button Lock Out Mode to prevent accidental alteration of the brightness setting.

The Green Dot RMR boasts an impressive battery life. It can run for two years on a single CR2032 battery when set at brightness setting No. 4, making it a low-maintenance choice for shooters.

Priced at an MSRP of $810, the Green Dot RMR is only marginally more than the comparable red-dot unit, making it an attractive option for shooters seeking a durable, high-visibility sight. The manufacturer of the new Green Dot RMR is Picotronic GmbH from Germany, further attesting to its quality and craftsmanship.

In conclusion, the new Green Dot RMR by Trijicon is a welcome addition to the optic market, offering a unique combination of durability, visibility, and battery life. Its green reticle and compact design make it a versatile choice for a wide range of shooting applications.
