Trijicon Introduces New Green Dot RMR

Trijicon, a leading manufacturer of optical sights, has announced the release of their latest product: the Green Dot RMR. This new addition to their catalogue promises to offer several advantages over traditional red-dot sights.

The Green Dot RMR stands out for its bright and easy-to-acquire green reticle, which is particularly beneficial in challenging lighting conditions such as bright sunlight or fog. This is due to the human eye's increased sensitivity to green color wavelengths compared to red ones.

The Green Dot RMR is built with durability in mind, thanks in part to its concave upper housing. It weighs a mere 1.17 ozs and measures 1.8" long, 1.2" wide, and 1" tall, making it a compact yet robust addition to any firearm.

The Green Dot RMR mounts atop a host pistol via the common RMR mounting footprint. It features eight brightness settings, two of which are compatible with night-vision devices. A notable addition is the 'Super Bright' mode, ideal for pairing with a weapon light, and the Battery Conservation Mode, which auto-adjusts the brightness after 16.5 hours without a button press, extending battery life.

The Green Dot RMR is priced at $810, a marginally higher cost compared to the comparable red-dot unit, but Trijicon assures that the MSRP does not reflect a significant increase. The unit is powered by a single bottom-mounted CR2032 battery, providing two years' worth of use when set at brightness setting No. 4.

Trijicon is hopeful that the Green Dot RMR will be the first of many green-dot products in their catalog in the near future. For more information, visit the Trijicon website at trijicon.com.

One notable feature of the Green Dot RMR is the 3.25-m.o.a. green reticle, which covers 0.23" of a target at 7 yards and 0.81" at 25 yards. It also boasts a Button Lock Out Mode to prevent accidental contact with the adjustment buttons from altering the preferred brightness setting.

In a market where green lasers are often considered more expensive but make a substantial difference, the Green Dot RMR is set to redefine expectations. The new Green Dot RMR is expected to be available in Spring 2023.
