Saudi Arabia's Mobility Future Secured by TASARU and Blacklane Cooperation

Transportation companies TASARU and Blacklane are shaping the future of mobility in Saudi Arabia.

In a significant move towards a greener future, TASARU Mobility Investments, a wholly owned entity of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), is partnering with Blacklane, a global chauffeur service known for premium and sustainable rides. This partnership aims to develop a smarter, greener transport ecosystem that aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals focused on electrification, digitalization, and service excellence.

Blacklane is now operating in major Saudi cities including Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Madinah, and Makkah, providing luxury mobility options that emphasize sustainability and high service standards. The service is available to Business Elite, Business Class, and eligible loyalty members.

Saudi Arabia is investing heavily in sustainable and technologically advanced transportation solutions. The country has set targets like having 30% of vehicles in Riyadh electrified by 2030. TASARU’s investments, including Blacklane, complement these efforts by accelerating the shift towards greener mobility.

Beyond electrification, Saudi Arabia is also embracing autonomous mobility and AI-driven logistics to transform how people and goods move. Initiatives such as WeRide’s Robotaxi pilot in Riyadh have marked significant progress towards autonomous transport solutions, aiming for 25% of goods vehicles to be autonomous by 2030.

TASARU and Blacklane’s collaboration exemplifies this broader transport transformation under Vision 2030, combining infrastructure expansion, regulation reform, private sector partnerships, and technological innovation. The partnership is grounded in a shared commitment to a smarter, greener future aligned with Vision 2030.

Blacklane is expanding its fleet with electric vehicles, with plans to integrate Lucid Motors' Lucid Air and upcoming Gravity SUV by the end of 2025. To ensure drivers are equipped with the latest in EV safety, charging, and service excellence, EVIQ, the Kingdom's EV infrastructure leader, is co-developing training programs through Blacklane's Chauffeur Training Academy.

Blacklane is also piloting a new "faster-pickups" service in Riyadh's King Abdullah Financial District to reduce wait times and enhance convenience for business travelers. The service is further expanded through a partnership with Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia’s national airline, offering complimentary chauffeur services within a 50 km radius of King Khalid International Airport.

This collaboration is a significant step towards a sustainable future for transportation in Saudi Arabia. By enabling sustainable transport solutions and nurturing local capabilities, TASARU is building a future-ready ecosystem fully aligned with Vision 2030.
