Trackonomy Acquires InPlay to Boost Smart Label Reach
Trackonomy, a pioneer in smart label technology, has expanded its customer reach and mission by acquiring InPlay, renowned for its innovative NanoBeacon SoC, a custom-built chipset designed specifically for smart labels. InPlay's groundbreaking NanoBeacon technology enables a new generation of smart labels, boasting ultra-low power consumption, affordability, and high-volume scalability. This acquisition will allow Trackonomy to expand its customer base and accelerate its goal of enabling the smart label ecosystem. Dr. Erik Volkerink, CEO of Trackonomy, leads the company in setting industry standards, as evidenced by its World Economic Forum Pioneer Award. Trackonomy has raised $250 million from prominent investors such as 8VC, Kleiner Perkins, and Koch Disruptive Technologies to fuel its growth. Meanwhile, InPlay, with its global team of around 20 employees, will continue to function independently under the new ownership, ensuring uninterrupted service to existing and future customers. The acquisition of InPlay by Trackonomy strengthens both companies' positions in the smart label market. By combining forces, they aim to drive innovation and large-scale adoption of BLE technology, ultimately benefiting customers and the industry as a whole.
