Title: UFC 311: Updated Fight Card After Another Change

Every day, it seems like a fighter on the UFC 311 lineup is losing their opponent. Last week, Johnny Walker bowed out of his fight with Bogdan Guskov. Then, news broke out that Sedriques Dumas was unable to compete in his middleweight bout with Zach Reese. Luckily, UFC President Dana White and his team have been quick to find substitutes. Billy Elekana replaced Walker, and Azamat Bekoev stepped in for Dumas.

The replacement bouts were confirmed through UFC.com. Elekana will now face Guskov, while Bekoev takes on Reese. This marks Bekoev's UFC debut and his first time replacing an opponent in his two-year UFC career.

In fact, Bekoev might have stumbled upon a tougher opponent in Reese. Though Dumas has long legs and athletic abilities, Bekoev boasts a striking six-fight win streak. The 29-year-old Russian fighter trains at American Top Team and is the reigning Legacy Fighting Alliance middleweight champion. Bekoev holds a professional record of 18-3 and has impressive grappling skills, which he used to defend his title against Chauncey Foxworth last time out.

Reese is no slouch either. He established a contract with the UFC after winning his bout with Eli Aronov via first-round submission back in August 2023. However, a loss to Cody Brundage via a nasty slam KO marked his UFC debut in December 2023. Since then, he has reclaimed his form, stopping Julian Marquez in just 20 seconds and winning against Jose Medina by unanimous decision in August 2024.

Two title fights between Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan and Merab Dvalishvili and Umar Nurmagomedov are still intact. UFC 311 takes place on January 18. Here's the updated card:
