Tesla Introduces Subscription-Based Wheel and Tire Protection Plan in the U.S.
Tesla has rolled out a new Wheel and Tire Protection Plan (WTPP) in the United States, offering a monthly subscription service to provide added peace of mind against damage caused by everyday road hazards.
The WTPP covers issues like punctures, debris, and pothole damage, and includes unlimited tire repairs and wheel or tire replacements with a $25 deductible per occurrence. The plan activates immediately upon subscription and lasts up to 24 months unless canceled.
Coverage Details
The WTPP offers unlimited tire repairs for punctures and common damage, and wheel or tire replacement with a $25 deductible each time. However, it does not cover theft, vandalism, cosmetic damages (including curb rash), or tires with less than 4/32” tread depth. The plan is available only if tires were purchased from Tesla or within the last 30 days.
Owners can manage their WTPP subscription through the Tesla mobile app under Upgrades > Service Plan > Wheel and Tire Protection.
Subscription Pricing
The monthly pricing for the WTPP varies by Tesla model and performance variant, as shown in the table below:

Additional Perks
The WTPP provides peace of mind for owners who frequently drive in urban or hazard-prone environments. Additionally, 24/7 roadside assistance is mentioned as part of the broader support framework in some descriptions, highlighting Tesla’s commitment to customer service.
This new subscription plan provides flexible protection for Tesla owners to mitigate costly wheel and tire repairs or replacements due to common road hazards and improves the overall ownership experience in the U.S.
In the realm of Tesla's expansion, this subscription-based Wheel and Tire Protection Plan (WTPP) now extends to cover issues in not only the automotive sector but also the transportation industry, offering finance solutions for damage caused by road hazards.
