Nestled on the Palm Beach State College campus in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, the SoFi Center is the new hotspot for a unique golf competition - TGL (Tech Golf League). Kicking off tonight, this venue is specially designed to host the three-month long playoffs for this innovative league.

Backed by TMRW Sports, a company founded by renowned golfers Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, alongside former NBC Sports executive Mike McCarley, TGL is set to shake up the golfing world. Each match, roughly two hours long, is an attractive programming block for ESPN, which has sealed a multi-year deal to air all matches.

On one side, the ScreenZone boasts tee boxes with real grass, where golfers hit a real ball into a massive 64x53-foot projection screen. The competition's 30 custom holes are carefully selected for each match, with the simulator determining where the ball lands on the virtual course.

Players then move to another box (fairway, rough, or sand) and continue to hit into the screen until the ball lands in the virtual zone for short-game play, around 50 yards in. The action then shifts to the GreenZone on the other side of the stadium, where players putt, pitch, or wedge their ball in the real world. The team managing the most points at the end of the match emerges victorious!
