Strike Brings Bitcoin Payments to Europe: Montenegro & Serbia First

Strike, the Bitcoin-based payments app, has made significant strides in 2023. After expanding to 65 more countries, it has finally entered its first European markets, Montenegro and Serbia. Bitcoin enthusiasts across Europe have been eagerly awaiting this news.

Strike uses the Lightning Network for swift, fee-free, and borderless transactions in various currencies. Its expansion began in El Salvador in 2021 and later reached Argentina and several African countries. The company's CEO, Jack Mallers, had previously announced global expansion plans in 2019.

The European launch was initially expected to happen this month, as hinted by Mallers' social media comments. However, the final launch date depends on the success of the test phase and regulatory clarifications. If the launch is delayed, Mallers might share updates at the Bitcoin conference in Miami in late July. At the Bitcoin-Atlantis conference in Madeira, Mallers had stated that Strike would be available throughout Europe in a few weeks.

Strike's entry into Europe marks a significant milestone for the company and the Bitcoin community. With its fast, fee-free, and borderless payments, Strike is poised to revolutionise transactions in the region. As the launch date approaches, Bitcoin enthusiasts eagerly await further announcements from Jack Mallers.
