Stellantis Unveils STLA Large: New Global EV Platform for Full-Size Vehicles

Stellantis has revealed its new global electric vehicle platform, STLA Large, designed for full-size battery-electric vehicles. The platform supports various configurations and powertrains, with eight new vehicles planned across Stellantis' brands from 2024 to 2026.

The STLA Large platform can accommodate front-wheel-drive, rear-wheel-drive, and all-wheel-drive configurations. It also supports hybrid and internal combustion powertrains, offering versatility for different vehicle types.

The platform's modular design aims to reduce costs and streamline manufacturing. It includes battery packs ranging from 85 to 118 kWh, supporting 400- and 800-volt architectures. This allows for driving ranges up to 500 miles and quick charging capabilities.

Stellantis targets sales of 5 million EVs globally by 2030, including 75 models across its brands. The STLA Large platform plays a significant role in achieving this goal. Its power inverter uses silicon carbide semiconductors to minimize power losses and supports over-the-air software updates for improved functionality.

Jeep is set to release at least one vehicle based on the STLA Large platform starting in 2024, marking an exciting step in the brand's electric future.

The STLA Large platform's versatility and advanced features position Stellantis well for the growing electric vehicle market. With eight new vehicles planned and a target of 5 million EV sales by 2030, Stellantis is committed to leading the electric revolution. The platform's first application in a Jeep vehicle in 2024 will be an eagerly anticipated milestone.
