Stellantis Re-evaluates Product Strategy Under CEO Filosa, Halts Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Banshee Production

Stellantis, the parent company of Dodge, is re-evaluating its product strategy under CEO Antonio Filosa. This move comes amidst slow sales of the Dodge Charger and rumours of a Hemi engine revival for the Chargers.

Filosa, who took over as CEO in May 2025, is reviewing the product portfolio and making strategic decisions. One such decision seems to be the halt in production of the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Banshee, although Stellantis has not officially confirmed this.

Meanwhile, Stellantis has been reviving the Hemi V-8 engine, reintroducing it in models like the Dodge Durango SUV and Jeep Wrangler. However, the company appears to be scaling back its U.S. EV plans, focusing more on European electrification. This shift is evident in the discontinuation of the Ram 1500 REV Extended Range pickup and the Jeep Gladiator 4xe plug-in hybrid electric vehicle.

Stellantis' strategic review under Antonio Filosa has led to changes in its product lineup. The slow-selling Dodge Charger Daytona and the reported halt of the Charger Daytona SRT Banshee production are among these changes. Meanwhile, the company continues to revive the Hemi V-8 engine and shift its focus towards European electrification, with the U.S. EV plans being scaled back.
