Airbus's Website Partially Compliant with Accessibility Standards, According to Audit

Airbus's website has been evaluated for accessibility, with the results indicating that it is partially compliant with the French General Accessibility Improvement Guidelines (RGAA 4.1). The compliance audit, conducted by Numerik-ea, found that 50.63% of the RGAA 4.1 criteria are respected.

The evaluation process involved the use of several tools, including Color Contrast Analyser, Web Developer Toolbar, Axe, and Arc Toolkit. The web pages were tested with Voiceover + Safari on osX 10.15.4, Firefox 79 + NVDA 2020.1 on Windows 10, and Firefox 79 + Jaws 2019. The pages tested include the home page, contact us page, terms of use page, our products in action page, careers page, careers: apprentices and pupils page, investors page, investors: financial results & annual reports page, becoming an Airbus Supplier page, Be an Airbus supplier: eproc strategic procurement page, newsroom page, safety of our products page, products & services page, commercial aircraft page, Article "This A319neo is the latest to test 100% SAF" page, and search page.

However, there are certain areas that are not fully accessible. Files available in office formats published before September 23, 2018, pre-recorded audio and video content published before September 23, 2020, third-party content on the online framework and Youtube video player, and the cookie banner are not accessible due to the accessibility requirement.

In an effort to improve accessibility, Airbus has established an Airbus Multiannual Digital Accessibility Scheme for the period 2024-2026. This scheme identifies specific non-compliant criteria that impede ease of use for users with disabilities, although the exact criteria causing these issues are not detailed explicitly in the available sources.

The scheme indicates ongoing efforts to improve accessibility, but some areas remain problematic, which could affect users depending on assistive technologies or requiring certain accessibility accommodations. Airbus communicates this status openly as part of its commitment to digital accessibility improvements over the 2024-2026 period.

If you encounter any issues accessing content or services on the Airbus website, you can contact digitalaccessibility@our website to be directed to an accessible alternative or obtain the content in another form. This accessibility statement was established on October 17, 2022, and applies to the Airbus website located at https://www.our website.

For those who wish to raise a complaint, options include reporting to the Defender of Rights (https://formulaire.defenseurdesdroits.fr/), the Defender of Rights delegate in your region (https://www.defenseurdesdroits.fr/saisir/delegues), or by post to Défenseur des droits, Libre réponse 7112075342, Paris CEDEX 07.

  1. Despite Airbus's website being partially compliant with French accessibility standards, there are areas where technology, such as assistive technologies, may still encounter issues due to certain content not being fully accessible.
  2. Airbus acknowledges the need for improvement in technology accessibility and has established an Airbus Multiannual Digital Accessibility Scheme for the period 2024-2026, aiming to address specific areas that impede ease of use for users with disabilities.
