SpaceX's Starlink Performance Kit Now Available in Canada
SpaceX's Starlink Performance Kit, a satellite internet system offering reliable high-speed internet, is now available for purchase in Canada. Initially launched in the U.S., the kit is now accessible to Canadian residents, making it one of the first countries outside the U.S. to offer Starlink services.
The Starlink Performance Kit comes with impressive specifications. It features download speeds exceeding 400 Mbps, making it an ideal solution for remote and rugged environments, maritime conditions, and high-vibration use cases like construction, mining, or long-haul transport. The kit also boasts an IP69K waterproof rating, ensuring it can withstand harsh weather conditions, including temperatures from -40°C to 60°C (-40°F to 140°F) and winds over 270 kph (170 mph).
The Starlink Performance Kit is equipped with an Advanced Power Supply that supports both AC and DC power, ensuring versatility in power sources. The upgraded third-generation Performance Kit, announced around mid-2025, is priced higher at approximately $1,999 USD but brings enhanced durability and supports gigabit speeds slated for software rollout in 2026.
Starlink offers two service plans linked to the Performance Kit. The Local Priority Plan, intended for fixed service locations like homes or businesses, starts at $65 USD/month. On the other hand, the Global Priority Plan, designed for mobile use (land, maritime, aviation) with worldwide priority service, starts at $250 USD/month.
Monthly service plans for the Starlink Performance Kit range from $65/month for 50GB to $540/month for 2TB. The service plans prioritize bandwidth in local regions and are designed for high-demand use cases, including enterprise and mobile deployments.
