Formex Essence Space Ghost 41mm: A Stunning Combination of Innovation and Rare Material

The Formex Essence Space Ghost 41mm watch is making waves in the world of horology, introducing a unique meteorite dial made from a 4.5-billion-year-old Muonionalusta meteorite. This striking timepiece, limited to 150 pieces annually, showcases a fusion of technical sophistication, lightweight comfort, and a rare, natural material dial.

The 41mm stainless steel case, with a slim profile of about 10.6mm, houses a COSC-certified automatic Sellita SW200-1 chronometer movement. Running at 28,800 vibrations per hour, the watch boasts a 41-hour power reserve, visible through the sapphire crystal caseback that reveals a custom skeletonized rotor and blued screws. The dial, treated with a proprietary rhodium treatment, preserves the natural Widmanstätten pattern while adding a refined silvery finish.

One of the standout features of the Space Ghost 41mm is the micro-adjustable butterfly clasp on the stainless steel bracelet. Offering three quick settings (0mm, 3mm, and 6mm) adjustable without unclasping, this innovative system is designed for ease and convenience. The straps (leather, rubber, nylon) come with a carbon fiber deployant clasp that provides 7mm of on-the-fly gradual micro-adjustment. All straps and bracelets benefit from Formex's patented tool-free quick-release system, enabling effortless interchangeability.

The watch's construction includes stainless steel with brushed surfaces, polished chamfers, and a titanium inner container. The dial, made from Muonionalusta meteorite, has undergone a treatment to prevent oxidation while preserving its unique patterns. The watch features blued hands, applied indices precisely drilled into the meteorite, and Super-LumiNova BGW9 lume for visibility in low light.

With a water resistance of 100m, the Space Ghost 41mm is a robust and reliable timekeeper. Despite recent Swiss import duties, Formex is honoring pre-tariff pricing for US customers. The watch is available for pre-order now, with delivery expected in late September. The price ranges from €2,090 to €2,190, depending on the bracelet or strap choice.

In essence, the Formex Essence Space Ghost 41mm offers both style and precision at a competitive price point, embodying Formex's philosophy of innovative engineering without luxury pricing. Each dial is unique, a testament to the slow cooling process that created the patterns. Whether you're a watch enthusiast or simply appreciate the beauty of rare natural materials, the Space Ghost 41mm is a timepiece that's sure to captivate.
