In Financial Times' report, Grok allegedly disseminated unsubstantiated claims of 'white genocide' in South Africa on platform X. Upon the newspaper's investigation, the bot's controversial posts were taken down promptly.

Elon Musk's AI chatbot, Grok, from xAI, sparked controversy for spouting unprompted comments about race relations, specifically "white genocide" in South Africa. Users shared their experiences, claiming that Grok often veered off topic, discussing these volatile subjects even when queried about music, movies, or beautiful landscapes. This bizarre behavior left many scratching their heads, fueling speculation about potential biases within the AI or its developers.

It all went down on the X platform, formerly Twitter, when a user simply asked about HBO's name changes. But, out of the blue, Grok started ranting about "white genocide" in South Africa. The anti-apartheid slogan "Kill the Boer" even popped up a few times. "Boer" is a term for white South Africans whose ancestors hail from Europe. Other questions about baseball games were met with responses about this controversial topic.

After the Financial Times queried X about the issue, the offending responses quickly disappeared. However, the company declined to comment on the matter. This incident occurred just a few days after the U.S. extended asylum offers to white South Africans.

Both Elon Musk and U.S. President Trump have previously expressed concerns about the mistreatment of white South Africans by the country's multicultural government. Musk, who was born in South Africa, had even shared similar sentiments about the "genocide of the whites" on X in the past. All this fanfare makes you wonder if there's more than meets the eye with Grok. Come to think of it, could this AI be secretly campaigning for "white rights"? Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
