Skoda's Enyaq RS gets another performance boost
The Czech automaker Skoda has added a new dimension to its electric lineup with the introduction of the Enyaq RS and Enyaq Coupé RS models. While the pricing details for these RS models are yet to be revealed, the brand has shared some exciting features that these sporty electric vehicles will boast.
Both the Enyaq RS and Enyaq Coupé RS will come equipped with LED matrix headlights, electric massage seats, and 21-inch lightweight alloy wheels in a special RS design. Additionally, they will feature a dual motor setup, progressive steering, sports suspension, optional sports tires, and an electronic damper control with up to 15 adjustable parameters.
The power output of these RS models stands at 250 kW or 340 PS, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 5.4 seconds. The WLTP range of these two sport models is an impressive 546 kilometers. Charging from 10 to 80 percent of their capacity will take only 26 minutes, thanks to the improved charging speed of 185 kW.
For comparison, the all-wheel-drive Enyaq 85X in the Sportline version, with a power output of 210 kW and a maximum charging power of 175 kW, currently retails for 57,810 euros. The Enyaq RS, despite being more expensive, is still considered a bargain compared to this model.
The RS models will share a common powertrain package with the VW ID.4 GTX, the all-wheel-drive version of the ID.Buzz, and the Cupra Tavascan VZ. The battery pack size for the RS models remains net 79 kWh. However, the Enyaq 85 now charges at a maximum of 135 kW due to a new cell supplier, causing some concern among customers.
Charging at the AC wall box for the RS models of Enyaq and Elroq will take over eight hours to fully charge an empty battery, as the charging speed remains at 11 kW. The top speed of the RS models is limited to 180 km/h.

The Elroq RS, the smaller sibling of the Enyaq RS, is listed at 53,050 euros. The exact pricing for the Enyaq RS is expected to be around 6000 euros more, approximately 59,000 euros. As Skoda is part of the Volkswagen Group, it is likely that the RS variants of the Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé are developed by Volkswagen, although no explicit detail was found in the provided search results.
In conclusion, the Enyaq RS and Enyaq Coupé RS are set to offer an exciting blend of performance and practicality in the electric vehicle market. With their impressive specifications and competitive pricing, these models are poised to make a significant impact. Stay tuned for more updates as we delve deeper into the world of these new sporty electric vehicles.
