Skoda Unveils New Kodiaq SUV Ahead of Paris Motor Show
Skoda has revealed its first SUV, the Kodiaq, ahead of the Paris Motor Show. This seven-seater vehicle offers a range of advanced technologies and is set to compete with the likes of the VW Tiguan, Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorento, and Land Rover Discovery Sport. Prices are expected to start from under £23k.
The Kodiaq comes with a spacious interior, offering 720 litres of boot space with five seats up, and a generous 2065 litres with all seats folded. It boasts a range of high-tech features, including City Emergency Brake, Adaptive Cruise, and Traffic Jam Assist. Engine options at launch include a 2.0 litre diesel with 148bhp or 187bhp, a 1.4 litre petrol with 123bhp, a 1.4 litre petrol with 148bhp and active cylinder tech, and a 2.0 litre TSI with 178bhp. The Kodiaq is built on the MQB platform, supplied by the Volkswagen Group.
The SUV's exterior is characterised by elegant lines, sporty contours, a wide grille, flowing headlights, angular wheelarches, and short overhangs. Inside, it offers heated, vented, and electrically adjustable vivid seats, ambient lighting, and three-zone climate control.
The Skoda Kodiaq is expected to go on sale in the UK later in the year, with prices ranging from under £23k for the entry-level models to over £40k for the top-spec versions. Its combination of space, technology, and competitive pricing positions it well in the crowded SUV market.
