SK Planet Adopts Moca Network's Decentralized Identity for 28M Users

SK Planet, a South Korean tech giant, is set to adopt Moca Network's decentralized identity infrastructure, marking a significant step in data ownership for users at an enterprise level. The move, led by Kenneth Shek, co-founder of Moca Network, will see SK Planet integrate Airbnb and Air Identity across its ecosystem.

SK Planet, a subsidiary of SK Group and operator of South Korea's largest integrated rewards service and Web3 wallet, will purchase MOCA Coin to participate in Moca Network's decentralized identity network. This integration will enable SK Planet's 95,000 merchant partners to verify users' private data with explicit user permission, ensuring data ownership and interoperability.

Liane Lau, press contact for Animoca Brands, the company behind Moca Network, confirmed the development. The integration will introduce zero-knowledge proof technology and decentralized identity verification to SK Planet's 28 million users. SK Planet's OKI Club will also be further integrated with Moca Network's Air Identity, allowing users to verify their identity and earn rewards from multiple platforms.

SK Planet's adoption of Moca Network's decentralized identity infrastructure is a significant milestone in data ownership and interoperability. With the integration, SK Planet's 28 million users will benefit from enhanced privacy and control over their data, while merchants can verify users' data with explicit permission. The purchase of MOCA Coin and integration of Air Kit infrastructure mark a substantial step in returning data ownership to users at an enterprise scale.
