Samsung isset to unveil its upcoming foldable devices on August 10th.
It appears that the window for leaks regarding Samsung's upcoming foldable smartphones is about to close, at least temporarily. Samsung has announced that they will be providing more details about their foldable lineup on Aug. 10 at 9 a.m. ET / 6 a.m. P.T. during their next virtual Unpacked event.
Samsung names their events "Unpacked" as a nod to the idea that they're unveiling something new for everyone to see. While their verification is still pending, it's widely anticipated that we'll see the subsequent versions of the Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold, which Samsung has traditionally introduced around this time every summer for the past few years. This isn't just our speculation, as several reputable leakers have already hinted at the event's details.

While specifics on the new devices have yet to surface, there have been whispers circulating. For instance, it's rumored that the Flip 4, the foldable device that folds into a square shape, will have a slightly larger battery than its predecessor to address its poor battery life. Additionally, the Flip 4 is rumored to have a larger cover display, expanding from its current 1.9-inch size to a full 2 inches. This may not seem like a significant upgrade, but it can provide more space for notifications and animated graphics.
As for the Fold 4, the foldable device that unfurls like a book, there's been a supposed "100% accurate" spec sheet circulating on Twitter since May. Although enthusiasts with a Fold 3 might not feel the need to upgrade, the Fold 4 is expected to be a minor update to the line rather than a complete overhaul. The internal display is rumored to be a 7.6-inch QXGA+ AMOLED, while the front display will continue to measure 6.2 inches and maintain its HD+ AMOLED resolution. The guts may boast this year's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and up to 12GB of RAM, solidifying the Fold model as a tool for the working class. We'll also be curious to see if the S Pen makes an appearance during the event announcement.
It's possible that Samsung's summer flip and fold event will also debut the Galaxy Watch 5, which may not differ too drastically from the Galaxy Watch 4. New colors might be added to the collection, and there's even speculation of the arrival of the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, a robust variant with enhanced sensors for Samsung Health tracking.
91Mobiles, a source mentioned frequently in the leaks, also claims that the Galaxy Buds Pro 2 might join the aforementioned devices during Samsung's Unpacked event. Last year's event saw the introduction of the enhanced second-generation Galaxy Buds in various colors, and the site has even released what it claims to be the initial press renders for the Flip 4 and Fold 4.
With just a few weeks until we find out more, stay patient. However, if you're eager to pre-order, Samsung has officially made pre-orders available in the U.S. until the event on Aug. 10. The anticipated Samsung Unpacked event on Aug. 10 will provide insights into the future of their foldable devices, specifically the Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold, which are rumored to feature technological improvements like a larger battery and cover display for the Flip version, and a minor update for the Fold.
As technology continues to evolve, Samsung's upcoming Unpacked event promises to reveal innovations not only in their foldable smartphones but also potential launches of the Galaxy Watch 5, Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, and Galaxy Buds Pro 2, further expanding their tech lineup for the future.
