S&P Global & Dinari Launch S&P Digital Markets 50: A Hybrid Crypto & Stock Index
S&P Global and Dinari have joined forces to launch the S&P Digital Markets 50, a hybrid index combining cryptocurrencies and crypto-linked U.S. stocks. The index, to be tokenized by Dinari, aims to provide diversified exposure in the coinmarketcap market while meeting rising institutional demand.
The S&P Digital Markets 50 Index will consist of 15 cryptocurrencies and 35 crypto-linked U.S. stocks, rebalanced quarterly in accordance with S&P standards. To manage risk, the index will have weight limits, preventing any asset from exceeding 5% of the total. This rules-based, diversified tool is designed to provide unified exposure across the stock market today, addressing criticisms of lack of consistency and oversight in crypto products.
The index will be tokenized via Dinari's dSharesTM platform, enabling on-chain exposure to both equities and digital assets. It will also have minimum market capitalization requirements: 100 million for equities and 300 million for eligible cryptocurrencies. This launch aims to provide a buffer against severe swings in the stock market while retaining upside potential.
The S&P Digital Markets 50 Index, a collaboration between S&P Global and Dinari, offers a structured approach to investing in the stock market today. By combining cryptocurrencies and crypto-linked stocks, the index aims to provide diversified exposure, meet institutional demand, and enhance transparency and manageability in crypto investing.
