This follows the successful debut of the smart glasses in key regions such as the US, Canada, and Europe.
Originally unveiled in collaboration with EssilorLuxottica in September 2023, the Ray-Ban Meta glasses are an upgrade from the original Ray-Ban Stories that were introduced in 2021. These glasses seamlessly blend traditional eyewear design with cutting-edge smart capabilities.
Equipped with Meta AI integration, the glasses offer voice-controlled assistance, real-time translation in multiple languages, video and audio calling support across various platforms, and music streaming from providers like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. The latest update allows the glasses to facilitate direct messages via Instagram, in addition to maintaining support for apps like WhatsApp, Messenger, and others.
The glasses also feature a camera for capturing photos and videos. Meta's AI-powered "see-what-you-see" mode, currently rolling out in the US and Canada, enables the assistant to offer real-time contextual help based on the user's environment. This feature is expected to be rolled out to other countries in the coming months.
