Vincent Arsenault, a restaurant owner in Quebec, has been forced to close his news kitchens early due to staff shortages. Meanwhile, new rules have been implemented, limiting the use of temporary foreign workers (TFWs) to 10% in restaurants near me, causing concern among business owners.

Arsenault, who runs a popular eatery, had to shut down his kitchens at 8:30 PM due to a lack of staff. This is not an isolated incident, as one in ten jobs in Quebec remains vacant, including 6,985 positions in the food service industry.

The new regulations, which came into effect recently, limit the proportion of TFWs to 10% in restaurants near me. This has left many owners, like Arsenault and Monia Petitpas of Havre-Saint-Pierre's only year-round restaurant, worried about their ability to maintain their current operations. Petitpas fears she may have to reduce opening hours due to the loss of TFWs.

The new rules also extend the validity of permits for TFWs from two years to one year. Employers are now required to renew permits as soon as they receive them. Despite these changes, nearly 10% of respondents are considering hiring TFWs for the first time, indicating a continued demand for this workforce in restaurants near me.

The new regulations, while aiming to balance the workforce, have left restaurant owners like Arsenault and Petitpas concerned about their ability to maintain their businesses.
