In the heart of Tokyo, from October 26 to November 5, the Japan Mobility Show 2023 took place at Tokyo Big Sight, marking a significant shift from the traditional Tokyo Motor Show. This year's theme, "Find Your Future", set the stage for an exploration of Japan's vision for the future of mobility.

At the forefront of this vision was Toyota, led by President Koji Sato. Sato, who expressed a desire to remain a "car-building president", presented Toyota's vision for the next era of mobility, emphasizing the importance of protecting the intrinsic value of cars while proposing new forms of mobility.

Sato's speech, titled "Find Your Future", highlighted three diverse types of mobility: electrification, connected systems, and software-defined vehicles. Toyota is focusing on revisiting fundamental car-making principles for battery electric vehicles (EVs), aiming to create EVs with a low center of gravity and spacious interiors.

One of the key components of Toyota's vision is Arene, the company's new software platform for next-generation battery EVs and software-defined vehicles. Connected to new software partners, cars with Arene will make travel more convenient and fun, offering eco-friendly driving, driving fun, and diverse experience value.

The Lexus brand will play a significant role in telling the battery EV story, showcasing Toyota's commitment to creating an ever-better world where everyone is free to move. Toyota is also working on innovations like the Woven City, a real-world test course that fosters co-creation of new ways of living and moving through collaboration with various inventors, startups, and researchers.

President Sato discussed these future car stories at the Toyota Booth during a press briefing the day before the event. He emphasized the importance of customers helping create cars' value in the future with next-generation battery EVs and software-defined vehicles. Arene can stay up-to-date with the latest software, use vehicle data for customer needs, and support a wide range of apps.

The Japan Mobility Show 2023 was designed to share Japan's future vision with the rest of the world, connecting Japanese technology and trailblazing business leaders.
