Power Industry Gets Cybersecurity Roadmap to 2025

A comprehensive roadmap for cybersecurity in the power industry has been developed by the Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. and partners. The project, coordinated by Plattform Industrie 4.0, aims to bolster cybersecurity in the power sector and foster collaboration among power, digital, and cybersecurity industries. The roadmap, spanning from September 2022 to July 2025, serves as a foundation for professional discussions and concrete recommendations.

The roadmap structures and prioritizes key challenges in power industry cybersecurity. After thorough studies, four critical areas were identified: corporate management, incident communication, certifications, and support for smaller companies. The platform's future focus areas include IT security in procurement, securing decentralized energy facilities, building a security culture, and cross-sectoral issues. The roadmap is expected to strengthen cybersecurity in the power sector and bring together relevant industries for in-depth analyses and actionable recommendations.
