Porsche's New Electric Cayenne GT to Match Taycan's Power
Porsche is set to launch a new electric Cayenne model, with the high-performance Turbo GT derivative expected to approach 1,000 PS, matching the power of the Taycan Turbo GT. The interior will feature a Macan Electric-like layout with curved displays and central infotainment screens, along with GT-specific details.
The Cayenne EV's market debut is planned for 2026, with the Turbo GT following later. Pricing will be above the current Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe. The design of the Cayenne Turbo GT will differ significantly from previous EV variants, sporting a fixed rear spoiler and prominent diffuser. Range is expected to exceed 500 kilometers in the WLTP cycle.
Powering the new GT model is a PPE platform-based system with over 1,000 horsepower and more than 100 kWh battery capacity. The battery can charge from 10-80% in less than 20 minutes at up to 270 kW. A prototype has been spotted with unique design features, including vertical intakes and carbon elements, suggesting increased cooling demand. The prototype also features a fixed rear wing, large air intakes, and an aggressive aerodynamic package.
The Cayenne Turbo GT, based on the PPE architecture with 800-volt technology and all-wheel drive, is set to arrive around 2026 with a 108 kWh battery. Porsche fans can expect a thrilling, high-performance electric SUV with impressive range and charging capabilities.
