OPSWAT Launches MetaDefender Drive with Smart Touch for Air-Gapped Cybersecurity

OPSWAT has introduced MetaDefender Drive with Smart Touch, a portable cybersecurity device designed to scan servers, desktops, and laptops for threats and malware. The device, launched on Tuesday, is now available through OPSWAT and authorized partners worldwide.

MetaDefender Drive with Smart Touch offers bare-metal multiscanning, allowing it to inspect laptops and critical devices from the hardware level up to user-space files and directories. It's purpose-built for critical infrastructure and features physical connectivity controls to prevent network-based compromise.

The device leverages up to seven anti-malware engines, file-based vulnerability assessment, proactive data loss prevention, and country-of-origin detection. It also includes boot-level analysis for deep inspection of cyber assets and requires no installation, making it ideal for high-security, air-gapped facilities.

OPSWAT's vice president of products, Itay Glick, explained that the device combines advanced multiscanning and data sanitization technologies for uncompromising security and operational flexibility. It enables security teams to scan transient assets in fully air-gapped environments without impacting the network. Its proactive data loss prevention feature detects sensitive information such as credit card and social security numbers across various file types.

MetaDefender Drive with Smart Touch is now available in both U.S.-made and global models through OPSWAT and authorized partners worldwide. The device offers robust security features, including bare-metal multiscanning, physical connectivity controls, and proactive data loss prevention, making it a valuable tool for protecting critical infrastructure and high-security environments.
