OpenAI Secures $200B in Strategic Partnerships for AI Infrastructure Expansion

OpenAI has sealed multiple strategic partnerships for its ambitious AI infrastructure expansion. The company has agreed to future supply collaborations with NVIDIA, Samsung, and SK Hynix, with investments totalling over $200 billion. These deals aim to bolster OpenAI's Stargate project, which plans to invest up to $500 billion in new datacenters and compute capacity over the next four years.

OpenAI's partnership with NVIDIA involves a significant investment of up to $100 billion, with plans to deploy up to 10 gigawatts of NVIDIA systems starting in 2026. Additionally, OpenAI is collaborating with Oracle, which will invest around $40 billion in NVIDIA chips for its new Texas data center, part of the US Stargate project. This creates a triadic ecosystem between OpenAI, NVIDIA, and Oracle.

In Germany, OpenAI has partnered with Delos Cloud, a SAP subsidiary, to provide sovereign, secure AI infrastructure tailored for public administration. This expansion is set to begin around 2026 and will involve 4000 GPUs.

OpenAI has also secured agreements with Samsung and SK Hynix to supply advanced memory chips for its Stargate initiative. These partnerships will see Samsung SDS sell ChatGPT Enterprise to local businesses in South Korea and both companies collaborate on local AI datacenters. The South Korean government views this deal as a way to enter the big league of AI infrastructure. OpenAI's Korean partners will produce around 900,000 DRAM wafer starts per month for the project.

These strategic partnerships and investments will significantly boost OpenAI's AI infrastructure capabilities, positioning it for substantial growth and innovation. The company's valuation has already surged to $500 billion following a recent secondary share sale, reflecting the market's confidence in its ambitious plans.
