OKX Expands Wallet Services to Support Bitcoin Ordinals and BRC-20 Tokens

OKX, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, is enhancing its wallet services to support Bitcoin Ordinals and BRC-20 tokens. The OKX BTC Explorer now enables real-time verification of BRC-20 transactions, with a marketplace for minting and trading Ordinals set to launch soon.

OKX Wallet, a decentralized, self-custody platform, will facilitate trading of BRC-20 tokens starting this week. By late May, users can mint both Ordinals and BRC-20 tokens directly within the OKX wallet. This expansion aligns with OKX's goal to improve accessibility and usability of these emerging Bitcoin technologies, despite current acceptance barriers.

OKX has bolstered its Bitcoin support, now including Lightning Network compatibility and BRC-20 token staking. The OKX Wallet is the first multi-chain Web3 wallet to incorporate multi-party computation (MPC) technology for enhanced security. OKX aims to bring Bitcoin technologies like Ordinals and BRC-20 tokens to a wider market.

OKX's latest updates, including real-time BRC-20 transaction verification and upcoming minting and trading functionalities for Bitcoin Ordinals, demonstrate the company's commitment to driving innovation in the cryptocurrency space. As Bitcoin transaction fees recently surged to over $35.8 million due to increased blockchain activity, OKX's efforts to improve accessibility and usability of emerging Bitcoin technologies are timely and significant.
