In a significant move towards accelerating legal innovation, global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has launched LX Studio, an innovation-focused US subsidiary. The new entity aims to deliver practical, commercial, and strategic legal solutions for large multinational clients across various industries and jurisdictions.
LX Studio's purpose and focus lie in leveraging technology and innovative approaches to enhance legal services, particularly in areas such as litigation, disputes, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and regulatory compliance.
Gina Shishima, the Chief Strategy and Operations Partner of Norton Rose Fulbright, expressed that LX Studio will allow the firm to capitalize on its resources and innovative focus to offer new and different services to clients. She highlighted that LX Studio will bring new opportunities for the global law firm to offer services that support its clients.
The kinds of products, services, and partnerships LX Studio aims to develop include technology-driven legal tools that support efficient dispute resolution and litigation strategies, innovative platforms and resources that provide clients insights, training, and support in complex areas like M&A, joint ventures, and foreign investment regulation, and partnerships that foster the integration of legal expertise with advanced technological solutions to meet emerging challenges in global legal markets.
Christy Bentz, the Chief Client Value & Innovation Officer of Norton Rose Fulbright, stated that LX Studio will provide a platform for more intentional collaboration with clients on the 'how' of legal service delivery, aligning with evolving expectations. She emphasized that LX Studio will further position the global law firm to adapt to the evolving expectations of legal service delivery.
According to Bentz, LX Studio will enable the global law firm to build, co-develop, and partner with clients on personalized service solutions. It will also identify, develop, and invest in the best technology, helping clients put it to use quickly, effectively, and comprehensively.
Interestingly, neither Shishima nor Bentz mentioned that LX Studio will be home to some of the firm's existing technology products, including the award-winning privacy compliance tool suite, NT Analyzer.
LX Studio is part of the global innovation and service delivery program, NRF Transform. The business includes legal operations solutions for corporate legal departments. It may partner with or invest in novel technologies and alternative legal services offerings.
