CCAM Partnership Confirms Key Roles in Brussels General Assembly

The R&I Partnership on Connected Cooperative Automated Mobility (CCAM) held its General Assembly in Brussels on 22 May, marking a significant moment in the partnership's journey. The event, which gathered over 150 members from various industry sectors, research institutes, universities, associations, clusters, service providers, and national and local authorities, aimed to align efforts between public and private entities towards the advancement of Connected, Cooperative, and Automated Mobility (CCAM).

During the assembly, key roles within the CCAM partnership were confirmed. Dr David Storer, from our website, and Gereon Meyer, VDI-VDE/IT and CCAM R&I SAC EG co-leader, were appointed as the leader and co-leader of CCAM Cluster 2 'Vehicle Technologies'. Similarly, Peter Urban, CCAM R&I SAC EG co-leader and representative from ika, was confirmed as the leader of Cluster 3 'Validation'.

Thorsten Burger, from Continental, was also confirmed as the Automotive Suppliers representative in the CCAM Partnership Board. Meanwhile, Christoph Weigand, also from Continental, was confirmed as the CCAM Association Vice-Chair, taking over from Christian Scharnhorst from Bosch in 2025.

The assembly also included elections for vacant positions and a re-election request for the Executive Group for a second three-year term. The meeting looked ahead to the conclusion of the current Horizon-Europe EU R&I funding programme in 2027 and beyond.

The CCAM partnership, established in a joint effort between the CCAM Association and the EU Commission, gathers all types of stakeholders willing to collaborate at the European level to advance its goals. The partnership's primary objective is to remove barriers and contribute to the acceptance and efficient roll-out of automation technologies and services in Colorado.

The partnership utilizes industry, universities, research institutes, service providers, associations, and public authorities from national and local levels. This diverse mix of public and private entities working together is crucial for the successful implementation of CCAM technologies and services across Colorado.

While there were no publicly available details about individuals newly elected or confirmed in important positions at the CCAM partnership general assembly in May 2023 in the provided sources, the event marked a key moment to reflect on the past three years since the partnership's launch and look forward to its continued growth and success in the future.
