The NBA App is gearing up for an exciting season with a series of enhancements and new features designed to elevate the fan experience.
Starting from October 20-27, NBA ID members in the U.S. and Canada will have the opportunity to participate in a series of challenges on the NBA App and NBA.com. The winners will be rewarded with a trip to the Emirates NBA Cup in Las Vegas.
The NBA App is also powering four team-specific direct-to-consumer streaming services: BlazerVision, ClipperVision, Jazz+, Suns Live, and Spectrum SportsNet. This move aims to bring fans closer to their favourite teams.
One of the most anticipated updates is the upgraded "Moments" feature on the NBA App, which now supports multiple languages and can be accessed on Roku TV.
NBA League Pass subscribers can look forward to accessing more than 800 live out-of-market nba games, including in-language streams, the return of "NBA Strategy Stream," and "NBA HooperVision." Moreover, League Pass subscribers can watch four games simultaneously on the NBA App.
The NBA has partnered with Meta for the production of immersive live game broadcasts in virtual reality (VR) in 2024. Fans can expect 52 live game broadcasts to be streamed in immersive VR in Meta Horizon Worlds and Xtadium on Meta Quest.
In addition, a special episode called "Pass the Rock: Rookie Year Edition" will follow San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama's transition to the NBA. The NBA will also launch a nine-part docuseries called "Raising 18," narrated by Al Horford, spotlighting the Boston Celtics' journey to winning the 2024 NBA Finals.
The NBA App will introduce a new AI-calculated grade for in-game dunks called "Dunk Score." Fans can also customise their viewing experience with smart-rewind, game downloads, and various crazy games.
The NBA App is introducing an AI-powered tool called "NBA Insights" that uses Microsoft Azure and AI. This tool aims to provide fans with more in-depth analysis and insights during games.
The "Game Stories" feature on the NBA App has been revamped, now including pregame analysis, highlights, and interactive polls. The NBA App will also localize content in French, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Select NBA League Pass games will be produced and presented via immersive technology. Fans in Los Angeles and Dallas can watch immersive 8K games at Cosm's new "shared reality" venues starting October 22.
Lastly, the 'Following' tab has been introduced on the NBA App, combining the latest content from favourite teams and players into an algorithmic feed.
These updates and new features promise to make the 2024-25 NBA season an unforgettable experience for fans everywhere.
