MSI China's faith in power supply quality is unwavering, extending warranty coverage to encompass all parts of your computer system.
New and Improved: MSI Extends Warranty Services
MSI China has just announced an exciting upgrade to their warranty services! Now, every component in a PC connected to a high-end MSI power supply in the Chinese mainland will be covered by MSI's expansive warranty program. If an MSI power supply fails and causes damage to other PC components, MSI will foot the bill for 100% replacement of matching hardware.
In their Bilibili post, MSI showcases their commitment to exceptional after-sales support in mainland China. If a malfunctioning MSI power supply leads to damage, MSI will conduct a complete third-party inspection. Once all proof of purchase for the damaged components is provided and the third-party inspection team signs off, customers can expect compensation.
If the damaged component is an MSI product, a matching replacement will be offered. If it's a non-MSI product, MSI will select a similar MSI product as an alternative. If the component is no longer available, MSI will offer cash compensation based on the remaining warranty time on the power supply. During the first year of PSU purchase, customers will receive 100% compensation for unavailable parts, with gradual reductions in compensation for the second and third years, and a 75% compensation rate until the end of the warranty period.
MSI's 80+ Gold and higher power supplies often come with 10-year warranties, a lengthy coverage period typical in the PSU industry. This new warranty expansion to cover the entirety of a PC's components following a power supply failure represents a significant show of confidence from MSI. Few, if any, other PSU manufacturers offer warrantees that extend to cover other components in case of power supply failure.
Recent electrical failures in PCs have become relatively commonplace, often due to the high power draws and electrical design of Nvidia's 50-series power connectors [1]. MSI's expanded warranty coverage for nearly the entirety of a PC represents a pro-consumer move, with some risks reduced by mainland China's limited supply of top-end 50-series GPUs. However, it's worth noting that the chances are high that at least one user submitting a warranty claim will encounter mis-seated pins causing malfunction rather than the power supply itself.
At the moment, it remains unclear whether this same warranty program will be extended to cover the US or other global markets beyond China. Nonetheless, MSI users worldwide can still benefit from the comfortable 10-year standard warranty on MSI's high-end PSUs, albeit without the added peace of mind offered by the new expansion [1].

In this new era of MSI's extended warranty services, it's evident that technology and finance play a pivotal role. With financial backing, MSI offers compensation for damaged components, whether they are MSI products or not, following a power supply failure. Moreover, this technological advancement, unique in the PSU industry, showcases MSI's dedication to sports-level performance and customer satisfaction.
