New CEO Appointed at Hayden AI and Keolis Commuter Services
John Killeen, a seasoned chartered mechanical engineer with a Master of Science in railway systems engineering, has been appointed as the new CEO of Keolis Commuter Services, effective from September 1, 2025. Killeen has been serving as the vice president of asset management at Keolis Commuter Services since 2017.
In a separate announcement, Marty Beard has been appointed as the CEO of Hayden AI, a company making a significant impact on cities across the country by improving transportation safety and efficiency. Beard, who brings a wealth of experience from leading and scaling enterprise technology companies, will take over the role at Hayden AI in August 2025.
Beard's career includes executive leadership roles at BlackBerry, LiveOps, Sybase, and Oracle. Most recently, he co-founded and served as CEO of alwaysAI, a company specialising in computer vision and deep learning for real-time applications on edge devices. At BlackBerry, Beard contributed to the company's strategic shift from hardware to security software.

Brad Thomas, CEO of Keolis North America, expressed his support for Killeen's leadership role, noting Killeen's deep knowledge of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's (MBTA) Commuter Rail network operations and assets.
Killeen has led the procurement and introduction of new rolling stock at two major railways, Go-Via Thameslink Railway and Southern Railway in the U.K. Hayden AI, on the other hand, is making a major difference in cities across the country by improving transportation safety and efficiency.
