monday.com Fortifies Privacy: Private Sections Now Truly Inaccessible

monday.com has recently updated its sections dashboard logic to enhance privacy and control over content. The change ensures that private sections remain inaccessible to non-administrators, even via direct URL.

Previously, sharing a direct link to a post in a private section granted access to its content, even to non-administrators. The new logic rectifies this issue, aligning with the intended functionality of restricting private section content to logged-in administrators only.

The update also introduces control over the visibility of section landing pages in search engines. Users can now hide a section landing page from search engines by clicking on 'Edit Section' and selecting 'Hide from search engines.' This feature is particularly useful for private sections, which are not visible in the site's navigation menu and are meant to be accessible only to administrators.

With these changes, monday.com has strengthened the privacy of its platform. Private sections are now truly private, with access restricted to administrators only. Additionally, users have more control over the visibility of their section landing pages in search engines, ensuring that sensitive or internal content remains protected.
