Missed the significant post-credits scene in 'Squid Game' Season 2's finale?
I ain't particularly fond of post-credits scenes in TV shows that air after the end credits, 'cause they're simple to overlook and streaming platforms like Netflix sometimes lessen the window size during the credits before you even get a glimpse of 'em. But Netflix extends the credits for a bit after episode 7 of Squid Game season 2, giving you a brief glimpse of a clip hinting at season 3. However, it's so fleeting that I wouldn't be surprised if 90% of the viewers miss it. Here be the spoilers, so proceed with caution.
The footage, which I won't share illegally here, shows:
- Three contestants gazing up at a hanging version of the Red Light, Green Light's robot girl. The color of her shirt might've changed, but it could just be the lighting.
- Contestant #100, who's the most indebted businessman, is among them, along with #096 and #353, though I'm unsure if we're meant to recall their identities.
- A large robot, resembling a boy in a cap, emerges, seemingly replacing the robot girl as a new game's component. It's unclear if it possesses motion-sensing eyes or not.
- A red light and green light indicate a train crossing, and behind it, a fake house section can be observed.
The crux of the matter is that despite the uprising which claimed numerous lives, the games carry on. Season 2 only covered the first three games of the week, so it's likely that season 3 will tackle the remaining three. With 100 players surviving after the third game, but with substantial losses due to the O's' slaughter and Gi-hun's team's demise, we may be looking at around 60-70 players remaining.
My prediction is that despite being captured by the Front Man, Gi-hun will re-enter the games. His "in-game" friends have been severely reduced, now that his out-of-game friend is deceased and the Front Man reverts back to his former self. Characters like the mother and son, pregnant woman, and transgender special forces soldier remain in the game. On the "bad" side, the businessman, shaman lady, and Thanos' drugged-up associate survive.
The games go on, and season 3, reportedly in 2025, should provide answers to the final three games. But who will Gi-hun confront in the finale? Can it be anyone else than the Front Man? What's the new game about?

Despite the intriguing post-credits scene hinting at 'Squid Game season 2' featuring contestants gazing at a new game component, there's no official confirmation yet about the show's second season. If the series does continue, we might expect it to delve into the remaining three games as suggested by the numbers of surviving players.
Tracing the hints in the post-credits scene, the potential return of Gi-hun to the games, amidst significant character losses, could add an interesting twist to the storyline in 'Squid Game season 2' post-credits scene.
