MG Unveils MGS5 EV: More Power, Space, and Luxury for 2025
MG is set to unveil its new MGS5 EV in the coming weeks, replacing the popular ZS EV. The new model is expected to offer improved powertrain options, a more spacious interior, and an upgraded cabin experience. Pricing is likely to remain competitive, with the MGS5 EV slated to debut in Germany in 2025.
Powertrain options for the MGS5 EV could include a 150kW single-motor variant or an all-wheel-drive dual-motor system producing up to 320kW. These options are likely to mirror those of the ES5, its Chinese-market counterpart. The ES5 launched with a 125kW single-motor powertrain, which could serve as the entry-level setup for the MGS5 EV.
MG has teased a bold rear design for the MGS5 EV, featuring a full-width LED light bar and Y-shaped taillights. The new SUV is 162mm longer than the outgoing ZS EV, promising improved interior space and practicality. The MGS5 EV is also expected to offer an upgraded cabin experience compared to the MG4 hatchback.
The MG MGS5 EV is poised to make a significant impact in the compact electric SUV news segment. With aggressive pricing, expected to remain within the range of the ZS EV, and strong value, it could pose a serious challenge to established European brands. The new model is set to debut in Germany in 2025, with pricing for the German market to be announced.
