Major automobile brands such as BMW, VW, Mercedes, and others unveiled their most significant unveilings at the Munich Motor Show.
Audi Previews Bold New Electric Sports Car Concept at Munich Motor Show
The 2025 Munich motor show is set to be Europe's largest since the Covid pandemic, and Audi is making a significant splash with its new electric sports car concept. The vehicle, internally codenamed "TT Moment 2.0," will be unveiled for the first time at the show and is expected to closely resemble its production form.
The concept car represents Audi's attempt to re-enter the sports car segment with a fresh identity and production intent, departing from previous models like the TT and R8. Audi CEO Gernot Döllner confirmed it will be a “highly emotional sports car” that is neither a TT nor an R8 but something in between, reflecting a new halo model for the brand.
The new electric sports car concept previews an all-new design philosophy for Audi. It is an electric vehicle (EV), moving away from traditional combustion engines. The vehicle will be a two-door coupe, filling the sports car gap left after Audi discontinued the TT in 2023 and the R8 in early 2024.
The concept car is expected to be a bold design and technological statement for Audi’s future lineup, symbolizing a new era for the brand. Key details about the concept car include its potential sharing of its platform or technology with Porsche’s upcoming electric sports car projects.
Audi's design boss Massimo Frascella has hinted at the possibility of a new halo model, with the original TT serving as a potential source of inspiration. Gernot Döllner, Audi's CEO, has also hinted at the concept car's true production intent.
Other automakers set to reveal new models at the show include Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Polestar, and others. However, the new Audi concept car is not yet known to be related to the BMW iX3 or any other specific model.
Our rendering suggests how the potential new halo model could look. Stay tuned for more updates as the Munich motor show approaches!
