Leapmotor Introduces LEAP-GRANT, Offering Immediate Discounts on Electric Cars in the UK

The Chinese automaker Leapmotor has introduced a new discount program called LEAP-GRANT, offering significant savings on its electric vehicles in the UK. The program, which launched on July 18, 2025, provides immediate discounts of £1,500 on the Leapmotor T03 and £3,750 on the Leapmotor C10, making them the most affordable electric car and SUV in the UK market, priced at £14,495 and £32,750 respectively.

The Leapmotor T03, a compact electric hatchback, is currently available on a 0% APR Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) deal for £169 per month with a £169 deposit. The Leapmotor C10 family SUV, a larger electric vehicle, is available on the same terms for £319 per month with a £319 deposit.

The LEAP-GRANT program is designed to make the switch to electric a simple choice for customers, bypassing the uncertainty about which vehicles qualify for which tier under the UK government’s Electric Car Grant scheme, which is yet to be fully implemented. The government scheme, which will provide a two-tier discount system, is likely to rule out Chinese-built cars like the Leapmotor models, due to ambiguity regarding their eligibility under the scheme's sustainability criteria.

The UK government's Electric Car Grant, starting fully mid-August 2025, will offer £3,750 for the cleanest electric vehicles whose manufacturers commit to verified Science Based Targets (SBT) and a history of emissions reductions, and £1,500 for other eligible EVs priced under £37,000. However, the qualification and timing details are still uncertain, potentially placing the Leapmotor C10 and T03, which are built in China and Poland respectively, in a lower grant tier or even in question.

Leapmotor UK, in a statement, aims to provide customers with clarity, confidence, and immediate savings by implementing the LEAP-GRANT. Damien Dally, Managing Director of Leapmotor UK, stated, "Our goal is to make the switch to electric cars easy for UK drivers."

Meanwhile, car buyers are in a state of limbo due to the uncertainty about the government's EV incentive scheme. Leapmotor is the first car manufacturer in the UK to offer such a discount since the government announced its EV incentive scheme.

Both the Leapmotor T03 and C10 models are backed by a four-year warranty, offering peace of mind to customers making the switch to electric. With the LEAP-GRANT, Leapmotor aims to simplify the process of purchasing an electric vehicle and provide immediate savings for UK customers.

In contrast to the upcoming UK government's Electric Car Grant, Leapmotor's LEAP-GRANT program offers immediate savings of £1,500 on the Leapmotor T03 and £3,750 on the Leapmotor C10, making these electric cars more financially accessible. This move by Leapmotor demonstrates the integration of technology in the auto industry, as the company aims to simplify the process of purchasing an electric vehicle.
