New Compact FRFR Speaker from Laney Amplification: The LFR-110

The music industry is witnessing a significant shift, with Full Range Flat Response (FRFR) speakers designed for uncolored electric guitar tones from amp models and digital profilers becoming smaller and more portable. A prime example of this trend is the latest offering from Laney Amplification, the LFR-110.

Laney Amplification, a renowned name in the world of guitar amplification, has refreshed its LFR series with the super-compact 1X10 LFR-110. This single-channel speaker, equipped with Bluetooth for wireless streaming, promises studio-quality sound and similar performance to the LFR-412 and LFR-212.

The LFR-110, designed by HH Acoustics, features a 10" custom-built driver and a 1" LaVoce compression driver. Its rear-ported design improves bass response, ensuring a balanced and rich sound. The speaker also boasts an XLR DI output with switchable speaker emulation, a mini-jack auxiliary input for external audio connection, and a high-frequency trim control for fine-tuning the treble.

Two LFR-110 speakers can be run in True Wireless Stereo, making it an ideal choice for smaller gigs or home practice. The speaker's design DNA is consistent with the LFR series, and it comes with an added feature—illuminated piping around the grille cloth that makes it look cool when turned on.

The LFR-110 has gained the support and patronage of several popular musicians, including Devin Townsend, Guthrie Govan, and Jack Gardiner. Notable bands like Alice Cooper and Duran Duran have also used the LFR series speakers in their live shows.

More details about the LFR-110 can be found on Laney Amplification's website. However, the price of the LFR-110 is yet to be disclosed. The LFR-110 is suitable for use with various digital rigs such as Neural Quad Cortex, Headrush boards, Boss multi-fx, Line 6 Helix, Axe Fx, and Kemper profilers, making it a versatile addition to any modern guitarist's setup.

This compact FRFR speaker is a testament to the evolving landscape of guitar amplification, where portability and tonal accuracy go hand in hand, catering to the needs of digital amp modelers and profilers.
